Mobile remote control
Scan a QR code with your phone and control play/pause, volume, channel choice and search — no app needed, directly over the local network.
New in version 2.5.5
Quite a lot has been added since the previous release.
This update mainly adds convenience and control — needing a remote less often, less searching through menus, and more overview of what is playing.
Ambient mode
After a while without input the screen shows a clock, current weather and a photo show (or the album art during music) — prevents burn-in and turns the kiosk into a digital clock too.
Universal search bar
One search bar (or simply the "/" key) searches music, video, TV channels and the TV guide at once — no more searching per section separately.
Podcasts
Add podcast RSS feeds and play episodes via the familiar music player. New episodes are fetched automatically in the background.
Smart playlists
With one click: "Recently added", "Most played this month" or a random "Favourites mix" — automatically built from your own library.
Smart home integration
Connect to Home Assistant: read what is playing now (e.g. to dim the lights during a film) and control play/pause/volume — for example pausing automatically at the doorbell.
Adjustable TV buffer
Choose None / Small / Medium / Large as the buffer for live TV — for those with a variable internet connection who prefer a little more delay over stutters.
Watch progress & next episode
Videos and series remember where you left off, show "watched" badges and automatically play the next episode.
Sleep timer
Set 15, 30, 60 or 90 minutes and playback stops on its own — handy for listening or watching a little longer in bed at night.
