In short

OmniStream MediaCenter runs on your own equipment. Your media, documents, viewing behaviour and provider details stay there and never reach us. We only process what is needed to handle an order and to check whether a licence key is valid.

Who is responsible

JoyRan Software, Randy Willemsen, Klundert, Nederland, Chamber of Commerce 42137423, is the data controller. Questions about your data can be asked via omnistream@joyran-software.nl.

The licence check

If you have entered a licence key, OmniStream contacts our activation server once a day to check whether that key is still valid. The following is sent: the key itself, the name and email address the licence is registered to, a device identifier and the computer name of the device.

The device identifier is a code that makes the device recognisable, so that a single licence cannot be used on an unlimited number of computers at once. On Windows an existing operating-system identifier is used for this. The computer name is the name your device has on your own network; we show it so you can see for yourself which device your licence is in use on.

Nothing about your usage is sent during this check: not what you watch or listen to, not which files you have, and not which TV service you have connected. If the connection drops, the software simply keeps working for seven days; only then does it ask to connect again.

If you use the free version without a licence key, this check does not take place and the software makes no connection to us for it.

What we explicitly do not process

Cookies and analytics

The website uses no advertising cookies and no external analytics software such as Google Analytics. When ordering, a technically necessary session cookie is used; it disappears as soon as you close the browser and requires no consent.

We do keep track ourselves of how often pages are viewed and files are downloaded. This happens on our own server, without a cookie and without any data going to another company. In doing so your IP address, browser type, your browser language preference, your approximate country (derived from the country code our network service provides, not from a lookup of our own) and the page you came from are briefly recorded. We use this data to see how many people visit the site and in which language we can best communicate — not to track you personally or build a profile, and the log is cleaned up automatically.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell your data and do not pass it on for advertising purposes.

Your rights

You may request which data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to processing. To do so, send a message to omnistream@joyran-software.nl. We reply within a month. If you disagree with the handling, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Security

The website works over an encrypted connection. Order data is kept in a folder that cannot be reached from the internet, and admin pages are protected with a password.
